Endowment Requests

Endowment requests can be submitted by individuals or organizations that are interested in fostering an understanding of the literature of Mari Sandoz and the people she wrote about: Native Americans and the settlers of the High Plains. Examples of activities for which endowments may be awarded include:

  • research using the Society's archival resources
  • workshops or conferences that focus on creative writing
  • research projects in range management and agronomy
  • educational workshops, seminars and materials on issues that affect the High Plains for K-12 teachers
  • educational outreach activities designed to promote understanding of the Native American culture
  • internships
  • conferences, workshops and other activities of the Mari Sandoz Heritage Society
  • support of the facilities and activities of the Mari Sandoz High Plains Heritage Center
